Resource/Activity Centre
The Resource/Activity Centre (RAC) is a social, recreation and support center where people are offered an extensive variety of social/recreational opportunities and support services. The RAC’s ‘drop-in’ format supports the principle of self determination. Individuals are able to select the activities and services of their choice from a wide array of structured and unstructured activities and support services.
What Do We Do in the RAC?
The Resource/Activity Centre offers a range of both structured and unstructured leisure activities. Examples of some of the activities offered include: games, tournaments, dances, seasonal and holiday events, and community outings. A monthly activity calendar is available outlining the activities.
After attending an intake appointment, individuals are assigned a Mental Health Worker. The role of the Mental Health Worker is to provide one to one support, linkages to other services and to facilitate a variety of recreational experiences.
A range of other activities and services are also available and new ones are continually being added to the program. These include: free clothing bank, phone and message services, volunteer opportunities and other special services that may be offered at various times.
