Life Skills

The goal of the Life Skills program is to help individuals attain new problem solving/interpersonal skills to assist them in the responsible and appropriate management of their own personal lives.  Lessons are taught using a variety of methods including: lecture,  films, group discussion, hand-outs and role-play for skill development. 


What do we do in Life Skills?

Participants will learn skills that can be applied to the following areas:  self, family, community, leisure and employment

Group participants have the opportunity to learn and practice skills in the following areas:

  • communication
  • anger management
  • stress management
  • problem solving/decision making
  • interpersonal relationships
  • identifying behaviours
  • assertiveness
  • building strengths of the individual

When Does Life Skills Meet?

 Life Skills is a sixteen week program which commences in April each year, class hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to noon.
