Creative Arts

Creative Arts gives participants an opportunity to:

  • express ideas and thoughts by using arts and crafts activities
  • develop problem-solving skills
  • increase motivation and concentration skills
  • talk to and share with other people
  • learn about themselves and their interests
  • develop new skills and interests to use during spare time

What Do We Do In Creative Arts?

The Creative Arts program includes arts and crafts activities and community outings.  Arts and crafts projects are the focus two days a week.  The group decides where to go for community outings and has input into the group crafts.

There are a lot of different kinds of arts and crafts projects in the program.  Some of the projects are group projects where instruction is given for one particular craft and time is also given to do individual projects

By doing some of the group crafts and participating in the community outings, participants can develop new skills and get an idea of what they enjoy doing in their spare time.

At the beginning of each program day a formal group discussion time is held.  During discussion time, participants can discuss issues of relevance to them, gain and give support to each other and do activity planning.

When Does Creative Arts Meet?

Creative Arts meets every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 am to noon.  The program is ongoing, participants can stay in the program for as long as it is benefiting them
