Volunteer Program

If you have empathy, understanding and a genuine interest in working with people who have a mental illness, we have a variety of volunteer opportunities available for both the Association’s clientele and people from the community.

Volunteers enhance our services by providing additional support and help by facilitating activities and assisting in programs for the clients of the Association.

Calgary Association of Self Help currently has a volunteer position for its Board of Directors

Calgary Association of Self Help has been providing client centered, flexible services promoting the abilities of adults with mental illnesses for the past 38 years.

Our mission is accomplished through our skill development, support counselling and social/leisure programs.

We are seeking the support of individuals who have expertise and 3 - 5 years experience in FInance (CA, CGA or other designation) and/or organizational development, strategic planning, legal and fund development.

If you are interested in making a world of difference for Calgarians challenged with a mental illness, are available for meetings every 3rd Tuesday of the month from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm please forward your resume to:

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE:

Food Services
Provide “hands-on” instruction or help to prepare and serve light meals.

Recreation
Facilitate fun games and activities in the Resource Activity Centre.

Telephone Reception
Answer the phones and provide reception services.

Tuck Shop
Sell a variety of snacks and beverages to clients and staff.

Recycling Project
Provide assistance to client volunteers sorting, cleaning and repairing donated items for our Recycling Project Garage Sales.

Arts and Crafts
Provide assistance in our arts and crafts programs.

Looking Good, Feeling Good
Manage a free clothing bank for clients.
