Volunteer Opportunities
If you have empathy, understanding and a genuine interest in working with people who have a mental illness, we have a variety of volunteer opportunities that we can tailor to meet your skills and interests. All our volunteers receive orientation and training and then, ongoing support and recognition.
A variety of meaningful volunteer opportunities assisting in the day-to-day program operations are available for both the Association's clientelle and interested community members.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE:
Food Services
Duties: menu planning and food preparation for monthly and special event meals
Commitment: 1 - 2 days per month
Resource/Activity Centre Program
Duties:
Recreation Assistants - assist with recreational activities offered on site and in the community
Phone Volunteers - reception duties answering the Association's phone lines
Tuck Shop Volunteers - providing customer service and sales of snack items
Commitment: times vary as the Centre operates Monday to Friday 10:00 a.m. -
9:00 PM. Weekends and holidays 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Shifts range from 2 -
4 hours per week.
Building Maintenance/Handy Person
Duties: to assist the Association with minor
building maintenance.
Commitment: 1 - 3 days per month

Licensed Hair Stylist
Duties: to provide basic haircuts for clients;
facility and equipment provided.
Commitment: 1 - 2 hours per month; day and time negotiable.
Recycling Project
Duties: working with client volunteers to
sort, clean, repair and display donated items for the Recycling Store. Sale of items.
Commitment: 3 - 6 hours per week, program is offered Monday to Friday 10:00
a.m. - 4:00 PM
Craft Programs
Duties: Assist staff with arts and craft
instruction in a group setting.
Commitment: 3 hours per week |
